Texas Outlaw Tournament Rules
Here are some of the rules and point system. They may change alittle between tournaments.
General Tournament rules –
Entry Fee - $20.00 per shooter, or as noted on flyer.
100% payback divided over 3 places:
1st = 50% of pot
2nd = 30% of pot
3rd = 20% of pot
Points system:
Each team will receive 1 pt. per fish shot PLUS 1 pt. for each pound of their big 5 fish.
In case of a tie, the team with the heaviest fish wins.
It is the responsibility of the TEAM to ensure all fish are weighed and counted. Tournament organizers are not responsible for missed fish!
Tournaments will be from 4 to12 hours as noted on flyer. Times will be discussed at Captains meeting.
1. All teams must check in at least 45 min. prior to start time, unless prior arrangements have been made with host. All teams must provide an emergency cell #. Teams leaving prior to the conclusion of the tournament must notify the tournament organizer.
2. Trailering is at the discression of tournament organizer; However, All teams must start and finish at the designated ramp or parking area.
3. Any team returning late will be penalized 3 points per minute late for the first 15 minutes. Teams more than 15 minutes late will be disqualified.
4. No boat may make physical contact with another boat during tournament hours except in the event of a mechanical break down. Specifics must be reported to the tournament organizer.
5. Wading is allowed as long as it is not prohibited by local lake regulations.
6. All fish must be taken by fair chase using Texas legal archery equipment (including cross bows).
7. All fish must be taken from the tournament designated waters.
8. Unless otherwise noted, DESIGNATED WATERS will include all waters that COULD be reached from the designated ramp, without removing boat from the water.
9. NO ALCOHOL is allowed in any boat during designated tournament hours.
10. Only single point arrows are legal. No gig points.
11. Gaffs up to 6 ft. may be used to retrieve fish. No nets are allowed.
12. Only these species are legal:
Carp (including Koi and grass carp if allowed on that water body)
Gar (all species, but only 1 alligator gar per person / per day * may be counted / weighed)
Buffalo (large mouth or small mouth)
Gaspergou (fresh water drum)
Sucker (all species)
Bowfin
Tilapia
Plecostamous
(Other species may be added at the discretion of the tournament director)
13. Failure to comply with any tournament rule, TP&W regulation, or local regulation * will result in disqualification of team and forfeiture of entry fee.
14. Protests must be registered with the tournament organizer immediately after final results are announced. Tournament organizer will conduct a poll of all participants to decide disputes.
15. Each team is responsible for fish disposal unless otherwise noted.
16. Tournaments with 10 or fewer boats will be shotgun start. If more than 10 boats are present, teams will leave in order of registration.
